A Little More About Me.

Once I felt unfulfilled and overwhelmed in life, so I prayed earnestly for God to speak to me. Though I didn’t hear anything, the next thought that popped in my head was, “Why would I speak when you don’t really know what I’ve already said?”

Whether it was God or my subconscious, I knew it was true.

So I devoted myself to regular Bible study and reflection. What I found was that the Bible was far deeper than I ever knew. I found that God truly has already spoken to all of humanity (specifically through his son Jesus). And I found all the guidance I needed to live a fulfilling life.

Though my professional career started in public accounting and investments, I eventually wandered in the backdoor to ministry. Now I’m a preacher for a local church in Atlanta, and I’m grateful to serve alongside a compassionate group of people who are bringing heaven to earth. In addition to my love of the Bible, I enjoy all kinds of music, stories, comedy, art, and food, so I often use pop-culture references to share insights.

I also understand when people feel a little skeptical about God or faith in Jesus, so I host a podcast called Investigate Jesus. It helps people make an informed decision about Jesus. If you or someone you know has questions, check it out at InvestigateJesus.com.

Last but not least, Reagan is my amazing wife and best friend. She makes me incredibly happy and inspires me to be more like Jesus everyday. We have four kids who make us laugh, and two frogs that don’t do much.

PS - People often wonder how to pronounce my name. It’s like the city of “Houston”. It’s a family name. (Yes, I’ve seen Apollo 13…and, yes, I have a problem.)
